Reentry & Cognitive Programming Unit

Reentry and Cognitive Programming (RCP) is a unit within the Georgia Department of Corrections that works to both reduce recidivism through collaborative partnership that support offender placement into evidence-based interventions and continue through offender transition (reentry) to the community.  This is done by providing offenders access to research-based programs that are evidence based.  Additionally, this unit establishes effective reentry methods that permeate all levels of affected agencies and organizations to reduce recidivism.  RCP is a process of transition that should begin when the offender enters our system or at pre-sentence. RCP provides effective opportunities for offenders to achieve positive change and to be a more pro-social contributor to society.

Mission
