Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,388 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On November 29 at Georgia State Prison, food service worker Pamela Addison was attempting to enter through the facility’s back gate. While conducting a search of the vehicle, they recovered several bundles inside the vehicle. Addison was arrested and transported to the Tattnall County jail.

On November 29 at Telfair State Prison, a drone was seen flying over the facility. The drone was traced to a park where Civilian Kessler Chandler was flying it. The following contraband was found, cellular phones, chargers, and tobacco. Chandler was arrested and transported to the Telfair County Sheriff’s Office.
