Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,398 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On December 20 at Calhoun State Prison, a traffic stop found civilians Makise Clark and Antonia Dubois with a package of unknown contraband. Clark and Dubois were arrested and transported to the Calhoun County Jail.

On December 20 at Dodge State Prison, Officer Regina Benjamin was observed with contraband when she was trying to enter the front entrance. A further search found multiple bundles of contraband on her persons. Officer Benjamin was arrested and transported to the Dodge County Jail.

On December 18 at Autry State Prison, a person was seen near the facility’s wood-line. A search found an unidentified male with multiple bundles of contraband. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Mitchell County Jail.

On December 17 at Johnson State Prison, an individual was found near the facility. Civilian Dennis Williams was found with a package of unknown contraband; he was arrested and transported to the Johnson County Jail.

On December 17 at Wilcox State Prison, a group of individuals were seen near the facility’s wood-line. A search found a package containing contraband. Civilians Marvin McCoy, Robert Gadson, and Coran Wilson were arrested and taken to the Wilcox County Jail.

On December 16 at Calhoun State Prison, civilians were spotted near the facility’s property line. A traffic stop led to the arrest of Richard Reese who was then transported to the Calhoun County Jail.

On December 15 at Dooly State Prison, 3 unidentified civilians were seen near the facility. A search found one individual with contraband and another with a weapon. All 3 people were arrested and transported to the Dooly County Jail.
