Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,376 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On October 28 at Hancock State Prison, an unidentified person was seen in the facility’s parking lot. Civilian Patricia Starnes was found with tobacco and a package of unknown content. Civilian Starnes was arrested and transported to the Hancock County Jail.

On October 26 at Dooly SP, a subject was observed on the facility grounds near the recycling area. An unidentified male was located, with a duffel bag in his possession. He was arrested and taken to the Dooly County Jail.
