Contraband Arrest at Dodge State Prison and Hays State Prison

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,004 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On December 4 at Dodge State Prison, the front Portal Sergeants detected a marijuana odor coming from Officer Latoni Gilbert.  Officer Gilbert admitted to having marijuana on her person.  Officer Gilbert was arrested by Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.

On December 5 at Hays State Prison, Aramark Food Service Director Diego Vega was arrested by the Office of Professional Standards. Vega had given liquor and drugs to inmates, as well as, brought a weapon onto prison grounds.  He was transported to Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.
