Contraband Arrest at Johnson State Prison

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,003 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On November 15, at Johnson State Prison, the GDC Front Portal Sergeant noticed that when Officer Elijah Mills was attempting to enter the facility he appeared as though he was trying to conceal something.  After a pat search was conducted, they found a USB cord and a medium sized bundle wrapped in black electrical tape.  Inside the bundle were 6 vacuumed sealed bags,  2 contained 22.68 grams of marijuana and 4 small bags of an unknown crystal white substance weighing 212.621 grams.  Officer Elijah Mills was arrested and transported to Johnson County Jail.
