Kenneth Grace Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Timothy C. Ward announced the promotion of Kenneth Grace to Deputy Warden of Security at Dooly State Prison (SP) effective December 1, 2022. As Deputy Warden of Security, Grace will be responsible for overseeing security staff members and over 1160 medium security male offenders.

 “Grace worked his way up through the ranks while displaying remarkable leadership in each position he has held,” said Commissioner Timothy C. Ward. “We are confident he correctional knowledge will continue to benefit the staff and offenders at Dooly SP.”

Grace began his career with the GDC in 1999 as Correctional Officer at Macon SP.  During his tenure at Macon SP, he was promoted through the ranks of Sergeant and Lieutenant.  In 2020, he transferred to Dooly SP as Lieutenant, and in 2020 he was promoted to Captain.  Grace was promoted to Unit Manager in 2021, where he currently serves.   

Grace attended Georgia Southerwestern where he received an associate degree in Sociology.  His departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer Training, Supervision I, II, and III, Management I, II, and III, Use of Force Training, and Isolation/Segregation Training.
