New Deputy Warden of Security at Lee Arrendale State Prison

Gwendolyn Green Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Timothy C. Ward announced the promotion of Gwendolyn Green to deputy warden of security at Lee Arrendale State Prison (SP) effective October 1, 2021. As deputy warden of security, Green will be responsible for overseeing security staff members and over 1,516 special mission female offenders.

“Green has proven to be a dedicated leader in each position she has held within the agency,” Ward said. “We are confident her correctional knowledge and commitment to public safety will benefit the staff and offenders at Lee Arrendale State Prison.”

Green began her career with the GDC in 2010 as a correctional officer at West Central Integrated Treatment Facility (ITF), and during her tenure was promoted to Sergeant and Lieutenant.  In 2020, she was promoted to Unit Manager at Pulaski State Prison, where she currently serves.

Green attended Fort Valley State University, and has completed the following departmental training: Basic Correctional Officer Training, Sergeants Academy, Basic Management Training, Supervision I, II and III, and Advanced Management Training.
