Clifford Burke Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Timothy C. Ward announced the promotion of Clifford Burke to Deputy Warden of Administration at Autry State Prison effective October 1, 2021. As deputy warden of administration, Burke will be responsible for overseeing the business office, property/supply operations and food service departments at the facility, which houses approximately 881 medium-security male offenders.

“Burke has been an asset to the department since joining us in 2007,” said Commissioner Timothy C. Ward. “I am confident he will continue to excel as he takes the next steps in his professional career.”

Burke began his career with the GDC in 2007 as a correctional officer at Bainbridge Probation Substance Abuse Treatment Center. In 2016, he was promoted to Assistant Supervisor, and in 2019 he was promoted to Financial Operations Generalist at Bainbridge, where he currently serves.

Burke received an Associate in Criminal Justice and Business from Bainbridge State College, and a Bachelors degree in Business from Liberty University. He has completed the following departmental training: Supervision I and II, Governmental Applied Accounting Practices, Georgia Certified Purchasing Agent, and he is currently in the process of completing Georgia Certified Purchasing Management.
