Execution Date Set for Thomas County Murderer

Ray Jefferson Cromartie to be executed on November 13

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Thomas County Superior Court has ordered the execution of convicted murderer Ray Jefferson Cromartie. The court ordered the Georgia Department of Corrections to carry out the execution on a date between November 13 and November 20, 2019. Commissioner Timothy C. Ward has set the date for Wednesday, November 13, at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson at 7 p.m.

Cromartie was convicted in 1997 for the murder of Richard A. Slysz.  If executed, Cromartie will be the 52nd inmate put to death by lethal injection.
