Lynn Baker Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. — Commissioner Brian Owens announced the promotion of Lynn Baker to Southwest Probation Field Operations Manager, effective December 1, 2014. As Probation Field Operations Manager, Baker will oversee all probation operations and will act as the Appointing Authority for Chief Probation Officers, Probation Officers and staff in fourteen judicial circuits in the Southwestern area of the state.
 
“Lynn is an exceptional leader and dedicated employee,” said Commissioner Brian Owens.  “Her wealth of knowledge and experience will greatly benefit the Southwest area.”

Baker began her career with the Department in May 1989 as a Probation Officer with the Thomasville Probation Office and in 1995, she was promoted to Probation Officer III of the same office. In 2009, Baker was promoted to Center Administrator at the Thomasville Day Reporting Center. In 2011, Baker was promoted to Chief Probation Officer of the Southern Judicial Circuit, where she most recently served.

Baker earned a Bachelor’s degree in Management/Marketing from Florida State University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Columbus State University where she is also a graduate of the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College. During her time with the Department she has completed the following training courses: Basic Management, Corrections Leadership, and Chiefs/Warden’s Pre-Command trainings.  She is a POST certified instructor and a POST certified Firearms Instructor.

Davis earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Mercer University, a Master’s of Public Administration degree from Columbus State University, and a Master’s of Accounting & Financial Management degree from DeVry University. Davis has completed Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT), Basic Management Training (BMT), Corrections Leadership Institute (CLI), Warden’s Pre-Command, and GA Law Enforcement Command College.
