Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons

On March 5 at Calhoun SP, Calhoun County Sheriff's Office notified the facility that a suspicious individual was hiding in the woods near the facility. During a search, 4 packages were located. Upon searching the area, the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office apprehended 5 Civilians and 2 Juveniles and located 3 black duffle bags and 2 backpacks in the woodline by the facility. The following contraband was located: 20.57 pounds of tobacco, 6 cellphones,5 Wireless earbuds, 3 packs of earbud covers, 4 charging blocks, 9 Charging cords, 6 Bluetooth speakers, 23 packs of cigarillos, 27 packs of THC gummies, 107 packs of rolling paper, 3 shirts, 3 socks, and 1 shoe. All suspects were arrested by Calhoun County Sheriff's Office and transported to County Jail with charges pending.

On March 8 at Lee Arrendale SP, Food Service Contractor Tomika Starks attempted to enter the front entry but was unable to clear the detector. Security staff conducted a search, and the following contraband was found: 200 packs of singles wrapped in 20s and 1.68 ounces of tobacco. Food Service Contractor Tomika Starks was arrested and transported by the Habersham County Sheriff's Office to the Habersham County Jail.
