Contraband Arrest at Washington State Prison

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 2,000 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On April 14 at Washington State Prison, a Correctional Officer found 16 bundles of contraband while making rounds. The bundles contained a mobile hotspot, a straight talk card, grill molds kits (top and Bottom) with an unknown blue substance, headphones, beard oil, tobacco, vape pens, cellphones, and cellphone chargers. A further search of the area led to a traffic stop by Washington County Sheriff’s Office, which located three individuals responsible for the contraband drop. Civilians Ahmed Hill, Jalen Stephens, and Princeton Smith were all arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail.
