Contraband Arrest at Multiple State Prisons

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,984 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On March 5 at Calhoun State Prison, a traffic stop was conducted on two vehicles near the facility. The drivers of the vehicles were Kieshana Davis and Ashont’e Cushions. Davis stated that they dropped off two individuals attempting to drop contraband at the facility. The GDC Canine unit were able to locate civilians Jacorey Streeter and Ryan Rugg who were on facility grounds. A search of both vehicles found guns, drones, debit cards, cell phones, marijuana, methamphetamine, and tobacco. Davis, Cushions, Streeter, and Rugg were all arrested and transported to the Calhoun County Jail.

On March 2 at Montgomery State Prison, two individuals were seen dropping contraband near the facility’s fire station. The contraband was bags of tobacco and packs of cigarettes. Civilians Maria Sharp and Tony Sharp were both arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
