Contraband Arrest at Rogers State Prison

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,941 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On October 1 at Rogers State Prison, a traffic stop was conducted by Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office near the facility, where contraband wrapped in black electrical tape was located inside the vehicle. Civilians Richard Lamb, Eric Ramsey, Ronell Sims, and Mark Watkins were arrested and transported to the Tattnall County Jail.

On October 1 at Rogers State Prison, a traffic stop was conducted by Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office near the facility. GDC Canine located one of the individuals from the car on facility grounds. A search was conducted and the following contraband was recovered: 949.2 grams of tobacco, 625 grams of marijuana, 30 packs of rolling paper, and 6 cellphones. Civilians Ivan Real and Kelsey Romero were arrested and transported to Tattnall County Jail.
