Contraband Arrest at Multiple State Prisons

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,888 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On April 26 at Rogers State Prison, an individual was found walking near the facility. A search of his person found cellphones, tobacco, marijuana, wire cutters, and a box blade. Civilian Mikeem Gaines was arrested and transported to the Tattnall County Jail.

On April 25 at Calhoun State Prison, a traffic stop was conducted near the facility. A search of the vehicle found the following contraband: marijuana, tobacco, cellphones cash. Civilians Tiyonna Carter, Avery Ammons, Codi Robinson, Jacorey Taylor, and Denesha Henderson were all arrested and transported to the Calhoun County Jail.
