Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,553 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On September 12 at Autry State Prison, multiple packages of contraband were found on facility grounds. A search found civilian Laronte Jackson, who was arrested and transported to the Mitchell County Jail.

On September 12 at Telfair State Prison, individuals were observed on facility grounds and a vehicle parked near the warden’s house. A search of the facility found the following contraband: tobacco, cellphones, and chargers. Civilian Anthony Roberson was arrested and transported to the Telfair County Jail.

On September 12 at Lee State Prison, Officer Soilberry was stopped at the front entrance after failing to pass the security check in. A search of his person found packages of unknown contraband. Officer Soilberry was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail.

On September 11 at Dodge State Prison, a traffic stop found two individuals attempting to leave contraband at the facility. A search of the vehicle found contraband including cellphones and chargers. Civilians Quinton Coney and Daniella Davis were both arrested and transported to the Dodge County Jail.

On September 6 at Calhoun State Prison, individuals were seen on facility grounds. A traffic stop found Civilians Deqarious Johnson and Rashod Green. A search of their vehicle found marijuana and multiple packages of unknown contraband. Civilians Johnson and Green were arrested and transported to Calhoun County Jail.
