Contraband Arrest at Multiple State Prisons

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1304 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On October 14, Mitchell County Sheriff’s office stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of Autry State Prison.  Civilian Brenna Pinksy and Civilian Malcom Orr had the following contraband recovered from their vehicle: 03 bottles of alcohol and 01 bundle of tobacco wrapped in black electrical tape. Civilians Breanna Pinsky and Malcom Orr were arrested and taken into custody by Michell County Sherriff's Office. 

On October 13, at Washington State Prison as an offender was leaving the visitation area a white bundle fell from his pants leg. His visitor Tonya Newberry, was placed under arrest and charged with possession of methamphetamine, crossing the guard lines with drugs and trading with inmates.

On October 12 at Wilcox State Prison, security staff observed an unidentified male near the facility’s fire station who tried to flee to the wood line. Wilcox County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Carlos Sevilla and conducted a search of his person and his vehicle. The following contraband was found: approximately 535 grams of loose tobacco, six cell phones, and fourteen packs of rolling paper.  Sevilla was arrested and transported to the Wilcox County Jail.
