MISSION:
Protect the public by maintaining custody of offenders, while providing academic and vocational education, mental health, specialized counseling programs, community details and work release transition to offenders.

HOUSING:
Consists of nine buildings containing four two-tiered cellblocks with single cells. Cellblocks are organized into a general population unit, special management units, MH/MR Units, and a 26 bed surgical unit. Offenders assigned to the Fire Team reside away from the main compound at the Fire station. This facility also houses a Special Management Unit (SMU), a C.E.R.T. Team, two Tactical Squads, a Canine Unit, and a Fire Station.

DIRECTIONS:
Take I-75S to Macon, then I-16 toward Savannah to exit 98, Stillmore/Aline Exit. Turn right onto Hwy 57 south to Reidsville. At first traffic light, turn right onto Hwy 280. Go approximately three blocks and bear left onto Hwy 147/178. Travel approximately seven miles and Georgia State Prison will be on your right.
